Speech Pathology -
therapy services
Speech by Forster beach specialises in play-based and life-skills based therapy in natural and familiar environments using evidence based programs and approaches.
We offer therapy in the following locations to private clients and NDIS participants (self or plan managed only) 0-18 years or so:
- home visits
- community visits (eg. playground, library, activities visits)
- School or preschool visits
- in some cases we can offer visits in my Forster clinic (indoor-outdoor play areas) where clients need or wish to reduce costs for me to travel to their own homes, or where we need a wet weather option
- telehealth: some services and parent training courses that I offer eg. Hanen More than Words, and Talkability can be delivered effectively via telehealth, which makes this a convenient option for clients who are out of area or who need a program delivered out of normal business hours. Some children respond well to receiving traditional speech and language therapy via telehealth also (eg. learning speech sounds, working on sentence structure).

Therapy services, also known as "Speech Pathology intervention" or "Speech Pathology treatment" can also take the form of parent training and consulting with other team members or teachers in strategies that will support the child or young person to develop their communication skills in those settings or when working with other professionals.
Therapy costs:

*** note the last 15 mins is usually note writing and/ or sharing ideas with you
***travel costs are free in Forster-Tuncurry area to visit your home, preschool etc. A quote for travel to other areas and options to reduce this will be quoted on enquiry. ***Travel is shared when I am already visiting another area for the day.
*** fees for private therapy services are generally the same, however there may be concessions available for clients who continue to pay out of pocket.
*** Medicare services are usually bulk-billed unless travel involved
